Via Ferrata — Italian for "iron road" — is one of the most accessible ways to experience the mountains up close. Fixed rungs, ladders, and safety cables are bolted directly into the rock face, guiding you up terrain that would otherwise require technical climbing skills. No prior experience is needed. Just show up, clip in, and climb.
On a guided via ferrata experience, you'll spend roughly two hours on the wall, ascending over 300 rungs to reach the summit. At the top, panoramic views of the Canadian Rockies open up in every direction — the kind of views most people only see from a highway or a postcard. Total time from the trailhead is about 3 hours, and our guides handle everything: safety briefing, equipment fitting, and leading you up every step of the route.
We operate two distinct locations — one just outside Calgary for those looking for a quick mountain hit close to home, and one deeper into the Rockies along the Icefields Parkway for those ready to go further. Whether you're brand new to mountain adventure or looking to push yourself on more demanding terrain, we have a route for you.
Both locations offer beginner and advanced route options. The beginner lines are fun and accessible for all fitness levels; the advanced routes are comparable to a 5.9 indoor climbing grade and deliver serious exposure and challenge. Either way, you'll finish with a story worth telling.
