Via Ferrata

Via Ferrata Experience

Scale a Rocky Mountain Cliff — No Climbing Experience Required

Originally developed as a means for soldiers to traverse rugged alpine terrain, Via Ferrata routes now offer a thrilling way for adventurers to ascend steep rock faces using fixed rungs, ladders, and safety cables. No prior climbing experience is necessary—just a sense of adventure and a moderate level of fitness.

On our guided experience, you’ll spend approximately two hours on the wall, climbing over 300 rungs to reach the summit. At the top, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks before hiking back down to the trailhead.

We offer both beginner and advanced route options. The beginner route is accessible and fun for those new to mountain sports, while the advanced line is physically demanding—comparable to a 5.9 indoor climbing route—and ideal for those with prior via ferrata or climbing experience.

Based in Exshaw, Alberta—just an hour from Calgary—this 3-hour adventure is the perfect mountain escape close to the city. It’s an easy way for Calgary residents and visitors alike to experience the thrill of the Rockies without committing to a full-day trip.
