Aim
To teach participants the fundamentals of backpacking, enabling them to confidently and competently plan and undertake backcountry camping adventures.
Objectives
- Guide participants in trip planning, including route selection, overnight stops, and weather considerations.
- Teach what to pack, covering gear, clothing, food, and water.
- Provide strategies to minimize pack weight.
- Instruct on effective packing techniques.
- Share tips for setting up camp efficiently and safely.
- Offer a pre-meeting with the guide and a two-day/one-night practical backcountry camping experience.
Prerequisites
No prior experience is required. This course is suitable for beginners.
