You will experience 3 days of guided, catered ski touring as well as the option to obtain or refresh your avalanche skills with the CAA AST2 course. Classroom curriculum will be covered in the mornings and evenings so you can spend more time on the snow, skiing and analyzing the terrain.
Prerequisites: Intermediate skier. Ymir offers great terrain for every level of skier both ability and fitness.

AST1, moderate fitness and strong intermediate ski ability.

Itinerary 1 15-18 January 2023:
Day 1 (Sunday): Meet at Kootenay Valley Helicopters time @ 0800 PST. Companion rescue training, introduction to the local snowpack and a short tour.
Day 2-3 (Monday – Tuesday): Review of forecasts and planning meetings over breakfast. Interactive ski days around Ymir – we learn while we ski, discussing terrain choices, snowpack and gathering data as required. Expect full days of skiing. Evening meeting, classroom sessions and social.
Day 4 (Wednesday): Morning skiing before flight out midday.
Itinerary 2 18-22 January 2023:

Day 2-4 (Thursday – Saturday): Review of forecasts and planning meetings over breakfast. Interactive ski days around Ymir – we learn while we ski, discussing terrain choices, snowpack and gathering data as required. Expect full days of skiing. Evening meeting, classroom sessions and social.
Day 5 (Sunday): Flight out after breakfast.
